When the bars on Granville let out, most of Vancouver goes home. The ones who don’t usually end up at Gorg-O-Mish, the after-hours club on Smithe Street that keeps the music going until 8 in the morning. Here’s what it is, how it works, and what to know before you go.

What Gorg-O-Mish is
Gorg-O-Mish opened in 2003 in a converted 1940s dance studio. The club describes itself as Vancouver’s first legal after-hours club. It sits in the Granville Entertainment District, so it’s an easy walk when the strip closes.
It’s a club built around the dance floor rather than tables. There’s no VIP section and no bottle service, so the night is about the DJ and the people dancing, not who booked a booth.
When it’s open
Per gorgomish.com, the club is open Saturday and Sunday mornings from 2 AM to 8 AM, and most events are listed from 12 AM to 8 AM. In practice that means a Friday night out turns into a Saturday morning at Gorg-O-Mish, and the same again on Saturday into Sunday.
Know before you go

- 19+, two IDs. Bring two pieces of government photo ID.
- Re-entry after 5 AM. You can leave and come back in after 5 AM.
- Cards accepted. Cards are accepted, and there are ATMs inside.
- Coat check. Coat check is available.
- No large bags. Leave the big bag at home.
- Smoking area. There’s a smoking area.
- Zero tolerance for drugs. The club runs a zero-tolerance drug policy.
- No VIP or bottle service. There’s no VIP section or bottle service.
